About Somerville..
Our small town of Somerville on the Mornington Peninsula nestles up against the outskirts of Melbourne.
The township was once located on Lower Somerville Road, with several original buildings still present today. Originally an orchard town Somerville has experienced significant population growth over the last twenty-five years. Somerville was known during the early 1900s through to WW2 for the fruit that was produced in its orchards. A harvest festival was held once yearly and special trains ran from Flinders Street Station to the town during the festival. Our roots still run deep here and just like the orchards of days gone by ; we peak in March. So walk, drive, catch the Stony Point Line train or bus to see what Somerville has to offer. |

Donating back to our local community The Somerville Family Day Committee take great pride in being able to ask local people which organisation needs a little bit of help to complete a goal.
Some beneficiaries in the past were the Westernport Basketball Association, Somerville Country Fire Authority and Somerville Community House. As we hold an outdoor event our ability to distribute any profits is dependent entirely upon the generosity of the attendees and good weather. Therefore we can only use a percentage of any profits as a guideline of any donations made. If you know of a worthy cause please email info@somervillefamilyday.com.au. |
