Somerville Community Member of the Year Award 2020

The committee of the Somerville Family Day Inc recognise community members who make our community a better place through our annual Community Member of the Year awards. The nominees are identified by you, the community. The committee reviews each nomination and awards the person/s who we believe significantly contributed to Somerville in the year prior to receiving the awarded, as well as their ongoing contribution to the community.
There are many varied fields of endeavor:
  • Sport
  • Response to difficult community events
  • Promoting and exemplifying role model behavior
  • The arts
  • Education
Outstanding achievement and contribution to our community is the basis of the award.

The committee also recognises under 18 community members who make our community a better place through our annual Junior Member of the Year award. The nominees are identified by you, the community. The committee reviews each nomination and awards the person who we believe significantly contributed to Somerville in the year prior to receiving the award.
There are many varied fields of endeavor:
  • Sport
  • Response to difficult community events
  • Promoting and exemplifying role model behavior
  • The arts
  • Education
  • Bravery in the face of adversity
  • A selfless act
We have quite a broad criterion for the Junior Member Award so we do encourage you to nominate anyone under 18 that you feel is deserving.

Somerville's Most Engaging Club Award 2020

The committee of the Somerville Family Day Inc recognises clubs or community groups who make our community a better place through our inaugural Most Engaging Club Member of the Year awards. The nominees are identified by you, the community. The committee reviews each nomination and awards the person/s who we believe significantly contributed to Somerville through their club or community group in the year prior to receiving the awarded, as well as their ongoing contribution to the community.

Fields of endeavor include:
  • Goes above and beyond to engage the community
  • Provide a fantastic environment for members to excel

The winning club will be notified and presented with a trophy at Somerville Family Day 2020.

How to Nominate:

Do you know someone you think might fall into either of the above award categories? Please email info@somervillefamilyday.com.au and we will send you an official nomination form for you to complete.
Conditions:
  • The nominee must live, work/go to school or volunteer in Somerville
  • The nomination must by on an official form
  • Entries must be received by the committee no later then 1st February 2020
  • All nomination information and material will remain the property of the Somerville Family Day Committee
  • The selection will be made on the basis of outstanding service to the community in any field chosen by the committee and no discussions will be entered into.
